St Cuthbert Wanderers will be without three players for Saturday’s Potts Cup clash with Stranraer.
Goalie Konar Pietsch and fellow Queen of the South loanees Cammy Shaw and Kane Paton aren’t allowed to play in the competition due to the deal with the Palmerston side.
Boss Josh Gardner said: “We can’t use any of the boys we have on loan from Queens which rules out our goalkeeper, Cammy and Kane.
“Stranraer are a very good team and they’ve signed a couple of players lately.
“It was a good game the last time we played them – although we didn’t really perform, it was a tight, competitive game.
“It’ll be a tough game, they’re well organised but we’ve had a decent start to 2023 so we’re hoping to get a competitive win on the board.”
Saints had no game last weekend due to the cup fixtures.
And this weekend’s match is due to be played at Dumfries High School while work continues on St Mary’s Park to fix damage caused by burst pipes following December’s cold snap.
Gardner added: “It’s a wee bit of an issue but I think we’re nearing the end of completion. There is work being carried out just now.
“We’ve switched it to Dumfries High School and hopefully by the next home game we’ll be back at St Mary’s.
“We’re hoping that’ll be the case but we won’t know until further down the line.
“We were going to try to get a friendly last Saturday but we were unsuccessful.
“The boys had a wee game amongst themselves and we’ll be back in on Wednesday again to get prepared for Stranraer on Saturday.”
