Residents in an area of St Ann's say they are 'frightened' after a man was found dead at a property.
Police set up a multiple cordons in Luther Close after finding a dead body at around 9am on Tuesday, March 8.
Detectives and forensics were in attendance as an investigation was launched to establish the circumstances around the death.
The incident has sparked fear amongst some members of the community.
Amy Cooper, a mum living in St Ann's, told Nottinghamshire Live she is now worried for her daughter.
“It is quite a dangerous area," said the 30-year-old, who has been in the area for six years.
“I would say it is quite shocking. I’m concerned for me and my daughter. As a mother I’m frightened.”
Another resident, who just moved into the area, said she was also “frightened”.
She added: “I have never seen anything like this in my whole life.
“It is very scary.”
Her family friend was just helping decorating the property.
Bus driver Chris Piggin, 52, added: “I know it has a reputation for dangerous things but it does not feel like it.
“It is very quiet. I have never felt intimidated.
“I do not want to know what happened because it has got nothing to do with me.”
Stanaslaw Mirgan, an unemployed resident who lives within the cordon, said: “I am not scared because it happens everywhere.
“In some places more than others.”
The 59-year-old added: “It was unexpected to see the cordon, but I am not that concerned.”
Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our thoughts are with this man’s family and friends. We have a team of detectives who are working hard to establish the circumstances and our inquiries are ongoing.”
