SRFTI's 'ARCUREA' to showcase restored films, talk about cinema curation, archiving and a lot more

Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) is all set to throw a bonanza event for cinema connoisseurs and enthusiasts. 'ARCUREA' an international event on archiving, curation and restoration of cinema will be hosted by SRFTI in association with NFDC-NFAI from March 16 to March 22. A series of online lectures and sessions have already been conducted.

The seven-day long event includes e-conversations with Iranian film director Asghar Farhadi, one of the most prominent filmmakers in the world. In addition to several awards, Farhadi had received the Cannes Film Festival's Grand Prix, which is considered to be the second-most prestigious prize of the festival after the Palme d'Or, for his movie 'A Hero', which was released in 2021. Indian filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, known for movies like Parineeta, Munna Bhai MBBS, 12th Fail, will also be a part of the e-conversations. Several highly distinguished speakers will grace the event and will address various sessions over the whole program. Internationally acclaimed Japanese film director Naomi Kawase will be the 'Guest of Honour' for the closing ceremony. She will also grace the closing ceremony as the guest of honour.
