HYDERABAD: Following the directive by the Supreme Court to appoint COA to examine changes in constitution and conduct AIFF elections, officials from FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) are conducting a meeting.
In this regard a delegation from Sreenidhi Deccan Football Club, led by KT Mahhe was invited to attend this high-level meeting with these top officials.
As 24 ISL and I-League clubs are the main stakeholders of football in the country, six clubs were invited for this meeting. Of these six, three are from I-League (Sreenidhi Deccan, Mohammedan SC and Gokulam Kerala) and three are from ISL (Hyderabad FC, ATK Mohun Bagan and FC Goa).
The fact that two of these six clubs are from Hyderabad, explains the growing prominence of the city as a rising football powerhouse. Ever since the formation of Telangana, eight years back, the game of football has made rapid strides under the stewardship of KT Mahhe.
One of the topics on the agenda at this meeting would be the future of Indian football. Meanwhile, FIFA, AFC and AIFF officials appreciated Sreenidhi Deccan for its efforts to promote football at the state and national levels.
