Squid Game star teases Euphoria season 3 appearance after Zendaya set visit

Squid Game’s breakout star Jung Ho-yeon has teased a potential appearance in the highly-anticipated third season of HBO’s smash-hit series Euphoria.

The 27-year-old has said she would “love to” appear in the upcoming season of the gritty high school drama during an interview at the Critics Choice Awards 2022.

When asked on the red carpet if she would be open to an appearance on the show, the South Korean actress opened up about her visit to the HBO set last year, after being invited by Euphoria star Zendaya.

She said: “I visited the set of Euphoria and it was so nice to see the set because it’s been a while [since I’ve been on set] after Squid Game.

“It was weird because I felt so comfortable to be just sitting [around]. I am not a team [member] on Euphoria but I felt so safe and comfortable to be just sitting there.”

During the interview, Jung was also asked if there was a possibility for her to appear on Euphoria during the show’s upcoming season, to which the actress said that she would “love to”.

Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyuk then joked that Ho-yeon could appear in the second season of the South Korean survival drama as her character Kang Sae-Byeok’s twin sister.

HBO announced Sam Levinson’s brainchild had been commissioned for a third season partway through the juggernaut success of the second season last month.

In an official statement, Vice President of HBO programming Francesca Orsi, said: “Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken season two to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart.

“We couldn't be more honoured to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into season three.”

HBO have yet to announce when fans can expect the bedazzled teens to reappear on screens, but many believe the third season could be years in the making.

Longtime fans were forced to wait years for the second season to arrive, after production was thrown into chaos by the coronavirus pandemic.

The release date of the third season could be further complicated by the schedules of the show’s numerous breakout stars, from Hunter Schafer to Jacob Elordi.

Euphoria stars Sydney Sweeney and Barbie Ferreira are already reportedly battling it out to play the Queen of Pop Madonna in an upcoming biopic.

The Material Girl singer has been looking for the 'perfect' actress to play her on screen and is also co-writing and directing the highly-anticipated biopic.
