A jobs fair was held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to help fill hundreds of staff vacancies at Stansted Airport.
More than 600 people attended the fair on Tuesday from Haringey and beyond with more than 30 on site businesses offering employment opportunities.
They included jobs with airlines such as Ryanair and Jet2 as well as retail, hospitality and security roles. Border Force also had a stand.
A big recruitment drive was launched at the start of the year for more than 300 roles being advertised at the airport as operations expand as the travel industry opens up following the pandemic.
Recruitment issues at UK airports have been brought into sharp focus this week as low staff numbers coupled with Covid-related absences have led to long queues and congestion at airports during the Easter getaway.
Hundreds of jobs were advertised at the fair, which also offered employment opportunities at the stadium.
Stansted Airport’s head of security, James Von Der Fecht said: “Now all UK travel restrictions have been removed, it has never been a better time to join the aviation industry.”
Gary Mabbutt, Tottenham Hotspur Club Ambassador said: “The Club has a strong track record in delivering jobs locally so we were delighted to host another Jobs Fair at our Stadium and ensure that people from across our community had the chance to learn more about the exciting roles on offer at Stansted Airport.
“Connecting local people with good quality jobs is more important than ever and as a Club we are determined to build on our long-standing commitment to create jobs in Haringey.”
