Jeanfield Swifts manager Ross Gunnion received the Premier Division reaction he was looking for.
Fresh from a disappointing defeat to Hill of Beath, the Perth side bounced back on Saturday to defeat Lothian Thistle HV 4-1.
The Riverside success story arrived thanks to goals from Dayle Robertson, Chris Dodd, Paul Simpson and Shaun Struthers.
“I was really happy with the performance,” Gunnion explained to the Perthshire Advertiser.
“After the disappointment of last week we worked on a few things in training and the players took that into the game.
“We were much more aggressive in our pressing and played the game in our opponent’s half much more.
“It allowed us to control the game from the outset and the result was well deserved.
“And it was good to see the four goals coming from four different scorers.
“Something we always aim to do is get numbers into scoring areas and the players were determined to do that.”
Swifts sit fifth in the Premier Division standings, only behind Musselburgh, Tranent, Linlithgow Rose and Penicuik.
Gunnion added: “The players have now set a standard again and the aim should be to go on another unbeaten run.
“The competition for places is there and there is no reason we shouldn’t be targeting a strong second half of the season.”
