Sprawling home with stunning gardens goes on the market for almost £3m

A sprawling home with stunning gardens that border National Trust woodland, set in one of the region's most sought after postcodes, has gone on the market.

The architect-designed residence on Thorsway in Caldy is known as The Four Winds and dates back to the 1930s.

All fittings and furniture in the house, from its floors to the staircase and doors, were custom made by Beyond Bespoke.

On the ground floor, guests are welcomed through a canopied porch into a large entrance hall with a dramatic oak staircase. The kitchen has a large lounge area and is split over two levels. Other accommodation includes a dining area, family room, study, cloakroom and utility room.

The cinema is on the ground floor, along with the games room and gym (Rightmove/Bradshaw, Farnham & Lea)

The lower ground floor comprises a games room, cinema and gym. And if that wasn't enough luxury, the double glazed windows are actually self-cleaning.

There are five bedrooms on the first floor, the majority of which are en-suite. Two of the bedrooms boast balconies and the master has a large dressing room. The sixth bedroom is housed within a self-contained 'granny flat', or guest suite, downstairs.

The master bedroom even has its own balcony overlooking the grounds (Rightmove/Bradshaw, Farnham & Lea)

However, the rear of the property is the real selling point. The garden has an extensive terrace set over two levels, with stairs leading to the lawn.

The area is not overlooked, offering utmost privacy, and shares a border with acres of National Trust woodland on Caldy Hill. There is also a lower terrace with ornamental pond and rockery.

The Four Winds is being marketed by Bradshaw, Farnham & Lea for an asking price of £2.95m. It was transformed by architect Trevor Irvin of West Kirby.

The last time The Four Winds changed hands was in 2008 for £2.3m. The time before that was in 2002 for just £575,000.

Properties on Thorsway had an overall average price of £1.4m in the last year, and increase of 5%.
