Spotify back online after users struggle to log in amid technical issues

Spotify is back online after millions of people struggled to get logged into the music app earlier this evening.

Online platform DownDetector saw a spike in the number of users reporting issues with the music app at around 6pm on Tuesday.

More than 20,000 users reported problems with the app.

Almost half (46 per cent) of the reports concerned problems with the app, with 36 per cent struggling to log in and 17 per cent registering issues with the server connection.

Users of the Spotify app on iPhone were greeted with a message stating that they have been logged out.

When an attempt was made to log back in, a message read: “Login failed. Something went wrong. Try again.”

Disgruntled users made their complaints known over social media.

One person wrote: “This isn’t very premium of you Spotify.”

Another added: “Why the hell is Spotify down. I totally thought I was hacked.”

A third commented: “Spotify being down is way worse than any other social media platform being down.”

Spotify confirmed that the issue had been resolved at around 7.40pm this evening.

The Spotify Status account tweeted: “Everything’s looking much better now! Give @SpotifyCares a shout if you still need help."
