Downdetector.co.uk, a website allowing users to submit issues they're experiencing with online services, has seen over 71,000 reports of problems in the last hour for Spotify alone.
Most of these reports came from users experiencing problems logging in, affecting 66% of people, with other problems on the app and the server connection also being reported. People all over the country have experienced issues with the service.
Some users reported being logged out of their accounts shorting after 6pm, being given a pop-up stating "something went wrong" when they attempted to sign back in. Users were then asked to try again later or attempt to log in using a different method.
Another error displayed when users tried to play songs on the Spotify website, reading: “We’re all mixed up. Refresh this page or try again later. It may take some time to get things up again.” A Tweet from the Spotify Status account was posted at 6.22pm reading: "Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. Thanks for your reports!"
So far, no details about the cause of the outage or how long it could take to fix have been revealed. Users have been asked to check the help pages for more information, but some have reported similar issues there.
Many people have taken to social media to complain about the outage. One wrote: "this isn’t very premium of you Spotify" whilst another said: "Yes the great Spotify shutdown of 2022 I remember it well."
