Sports Story is finally out on Nintendo Switch

After many years of teasing, Sports Story is now available on Nintendo Switch. Yes, as in, you can download it from the eShop right now!

Sports Story is an adorable RPG about becoming an all-star athlete. It’s a sequel to 2017’s indie darling Golf Story, but with additional activities like tennis, volleyball, cricket, fishing, soccer, BMX, and plenty more. Given this is a role-playing affair, there are dungeons to explore and questlines to partake in as well. However, Sports Story‘s tone is relatively lighthearted compared to Elden Ring or The Witcher – hanging out at the mall or going on train rides are among the (many) optional endeavors.

Nintendo announced in November 2022 that Sports Story would arrive sometime this month but didn’t provide an exact date. Then suddenly, developer Sidebar Games put it up on the eShop last week with little to no fanfare. Despite there being quite a bit of pre-release hype for this one, especially with its predecessor Golf Story garnering such a strong following in the year since that came out.

Either way, Sports Story is finally here! There are virtually no reviews for it yet, so there’s no telling if it lives up to the hype.
