Temperatures in parts of the US right now may have plummeted far below zero - but this sports reporter's sarcastic broadcasts have warmed viewers spirits amid the terrible blizzards.
Mark Woodley is better found in the studio reporting on local football teams than outdoors in the midst of a pummeling snow storm.
But the fed-up presenter had viewers in hysterics with his cantankerous quick quips last week as he reported on the Arctic conditions blasting the Mid-West.
The Iowa-based broadcaster didn't mince his words as he bemoaned of having to get up in the middle of the night and battle the freezing temperatures only to tell other people "not to do the same".
Mark's usual sports broadcasting was cancelled this week when several inches of snow hit the US state, and so instead he was begrudgingly made to moonlight as a weather presenter.
“I usually do sports, everything is cancelled here for the next couple of days,” he explained.
"What better time to ask the sports guy to come in about five hours earlier than he would normally wake up, go stand out in the wind and the snow and the cold and tell other people not to do the same?" he asks audiences.
In another splice, Mark says: "I'm used to these evening shows that are only thirty minutes long, and generally on those shows I am inside so this is a really long show.
"Tune in for the next couple of hours to watch me progressively get crankier and crankier."
And viewers lapping up the crankiness were not disappointed.
Mark later quips to his colleague back in the studio: "I've got good news and I've got bad news.
"The good news is I can still feel my face right now, the bad news is I kind of wish I couldn't."
"Can I go back to my regular job?" he asks in one clip.
He adds: "I'm pretty sure you guys either added an extra hour to this show just because someone likes torturing me, because compared to two and a half hours ago, it is just getting colder and colder."
In his final report, the KWWL presenter rejoices at being "live at Waterloo for the last time this morning, thankfully".
In a tweet which has since gone viral after being liked more than 220,000 times, Mark tweeted a compilation of his sarcastic complaints, writing: "This is what you get when you ask the sports guy to come in to cover a blizzard in the morning show."
His retorts continued after spotting weather reports from other areas of the country, joking "oh good, I see Nashville is preparing for my arrival this week" as he shared news of snow in Tennessee.
But despite the curmudgeonly jokes, Mark said he was left "choked up" by some of the replies to his broadcast.
"Through a couple of crazy days the thing that’s stuck with me the most are the emails (and there have been a lot) from people who have told me I was able to put a smile on their face during a difficult time," he wrote.
"I’ve choked up over a few, and it’s a good reminder that for some the holidays can be the opposite of happy.
"A kind word, gesture, or a phone call can make a world of difference for someone who’s struggling.
"I want to thank all of you for the overwhelming positive response to my goofiness. It’s been incredible!"
