It’s mid-August and the preseason coaches poll has already been released with the first AP Top 25 poll set to be released Monday around noon ET. With the start of the 2026 college football season right around the corner, Sports Illustrated is projecting its preseason Top 25 teams.

With plenty of time to ruminate and predict where these teams check in, and to make this even more fun, this writer has made a bold prediction for every team listed in our Top 25 projection.
