The devastation caused by the Category 4 storm has led to over 200 casualties and widespread destruction in the southeast region, leaving many communities without essential services.
Various sports organizations have also joined the relief efforts. The Carolina Panthers' owner, David Tepper, and his wife have pledged $3 million towards relief initiatives, while the Charlotte Hornets and Michael Jordan's NASCAR team have each committed $1 million. Charlotte Motor Speedway and North Wilkesboro Speedway have conducted donation drives, with Bristol Motor Speedway serving as a regional disaster relief center in eastern Tennessee.
