Chicken restaurant Spitroast has announced it will be closing 'within a matter of days'.
With two restaurants located in Crosby and Smithdown, the Ormskirk restaurant will close its doors and be replaced with Italian restaurant bistro Luca, LancsLive reports.
Ormskirk will be the second location for the stylish Liverpool-based restaurant, which specialises in authentic and traditional small plates. Spitroast is currently housed at the back of The Buck I'Th' Vine, a traditional Grade II-listed pub.

In an 'important announcement' post on social media announcing the closure, Spitroast said it has been "extremely privileged" to have been "welcomed by the Ormskirk community" for the past few years.
The statement continued: “Thank you Ormskirk, we look forward to serving you for the final time on March 19. We have decided to take SpitRoast in a new and exciting direction. This is certainly not the end however..." Before a graphic saying 'Luca at the Buck' pops up on screen.
Luca is run by Andreas Edlbaue, who told LancsLive that the restaurant would be "absorbing the entire property" currently occupied by SpitRoast and the Buck ‘ith Vine with their authentic Northern Italian/ Venetian-inspired eatery. He added: "We will essentially be running it as a pub in The Buck, and a restaurant in the back space that Spitroast inhabited."
"The owner of Spitroast also has interests in our Luca brand so he will be working closely with his other business partner as well as myself to ensure that we deliver the same award winning dining experience as our sister restaurant in Allerton, Liverpool."
It was also confirmed that the pub will be offering a "condensed menu" focusing on grazing and light bites and charcuterie boards. While the main dining room area will serve dishes including traditional Venetian cicchetti and small plates, such as Neapolitan style pizza, fresh pasta, pasture raised British meats and imported cheeses.
