Leeds United have been praised for showing the spirit of champions at Anfield as they picked up their first win in eight matches. Jesse Marsch has come under increased pressure with the Whites dropping down the table after a bright start to the campaign.
Results may not have told the full picture, with Leeds turning in some impressive displays, but it's results that ultimately matter. In winning at Anfield, the Whites ended a 29-game unbeaten home run for Jurgen Klopp's side, an historic scalp for Marsch and his side.
At full-time, Marsch reiterated the need to be in it together as the Whites look to kick start their campaign and avoid a repeat of last season.

Here's what the national media had to say about the win over Liverpool this weekend.
Crysencio Summerville strikes late to lift Leeds and stun Liverpool
Andy Hunter of the Guardian said: "Jesse Marsch had wished for a show of unity and intent to lift the clouds hanging over his Leeds reign. The under-pressure manager got more than he could possibly have imagined at Anfield where Crysencio Summerville, on the eve of his 21st birthday, delivered Leeds’ first win against Liverpool in 21 years.
"The Dutch winger pounced in the 89th minute to condemn Liverpool to a first home league defeat since March 2021. He lifted the load on Marsch and his team out of the relegation zone in the process.
"It was no more than Leeds deserved as they savoured a first league victory since beating Chelsea in August. Illan Meslier was inspired in the visiting goal but this was a supreme collective effort that supported their manager’s belief that his team are on the right path.
"Leeds performed with an ambition that belied a run of eight league games without a win. Liverpool, despite spurning several good chances, were flat and unconvincing throughout. A second successive league defeat ended a run of 29 league games unbeaten at Anfield and left Jürgen Klopp conceding that Champions League qualification will be beyond his team this season should their inconsistency continue."
Famous win can be Leeds catalyst
Gary Rose of BBC Sport said: "There has not been a great deal for Leeds fans to enjoy about this season so far, with even boss Jesse Marsch admitting recently that he is sick of losing.
"The American's comment came as he was explaining how he felt his side were not getting the rewards their performances have deserved, and this was certainly a display that should leave Leeds supporters feeling hugely encouraged that this can yet be a successful season. They were full of energy and fight and Liverpool can have no complaints with this result as their opponents simply wanted it more.
"This victory - just a third in 12 league matches played and their first since August - is a timely boost for Leeds, with tough fixtures against third-placed Tottenham and league leaders Manchester City coming in their next three games."
Leeds United stun Anfield with spirit of champions
Oliver Holt told the Daily Mail: "Many thought that Leeds United would sack their manager, Jesse Marsch, last week. A home defeat to Fulham had left them separated from bottom place in the Premier League by the gossamer thread of goal difference. Marsch seemed destined to be remembered as the man who chased the ghost of Marcelo Bielsa and withered away in his shadow.
"Instead, Leeds chose to spare Marsch. Or at least give him a stay of execution. And on Saturday night at Anfield, in the dying minutes of a tumultuous, magnificent game of football, the people who kept their manager in a job as they went without a win for eight league games and the Ted Lasso jibes grew louder and louder, were rewarded for their patience and for their loyalty.
"It was not just the three points that Leeds earned at Liverpool with a superb last-gasp 2-1 victory that was their reward. It was the way they earned those points. Even before Crysencio Summerville poked in the winner on the stroke of full time to send the visiting fans behind the goal into raptures, Leeds had played with the spirit of champions."
