CHENNAI: The spinners have found the going tough this IPL. Barring a few like Yuzvendra Chahal (Rajasthan Royals), Kuldeep Yadav (Delhi Capitals) and Sunil Narine (Kolkata Knight Riders), the slow bowlers have struggled to assert their supremacy in the middle overs and have been forced to contain runs rather than hunt for wickets.
Operating on batting belters across the country have not helped their cause either. But Muttiah Muralitharan, who is currently serving as the spin-bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, stressed that the tweakers can solve issues by focusing on their primary skill of turning the ball. "The problem in India is that most of the spinners who are playing are not spinning the ball. That is the main criterion," Muralitharan said on Saturday.
