A sperm donor and father of 20 kids has gone on baby-making tour to give women instant 'DIY samples
Adam Hooper will embark on a journey to get women pregnant who are desperate to have a baby.
Mums who are ovulating during the 37-year-old's will be given a donation of his sperm which will be passed to them in a cup.
They are keen to meet the donor as hospital clinics run low on sperm samples.
Mr Hooper hopes his "DIY tour" will bring together mums who share a bond over their future child's shared DNA and hopes to do the same in the UK.
Ingrid Stefaniw, of Brisbane, Australia, is now 12 weeks pregnant with the donor's baby after she spent £7,500 ($13,000) on IVF treatment which was unsuccessful.
The 35-year-old told the Courier Mail she contacted him through the Facebook page Sperm Donation Australia.
It has more than 1,500 members and pairs sperm donors with singles or couples who want to have a baby.
She flew to Perth to collect a donation from Mr Hooper after dozens of unsuccessful dates and was happy her child will be able to contact him before they turn 18 if they want to.
Donor privacy is not revealed until the child is of legal age and details give to state health registers.
Mr Hooper, who has two children of his own and 20 which are donor-conceived began donating sperm to give others the chance of raising a child.
He wants to be part of the children's lives and wants them to have a photo of him or communicate if needed.
Mr Hooper said: "I want the kids to have a sense of knowing where they are from — too many donor children have to spend years trying to track down their fathers."
Most of the donor group members are single women in their 30s and 40s.
Greta French-Kennedy, a yoga teacher, was unable to conceive in the past with another sperm donor.
The 37-year-old loved the idea of being part of a mothers' group whose children had the same father.
She said: "I love the thought that the child can contact Adam if they want."
Her donation is expected to be exchanged at the airport because of timing issues with their meeting.
Others not ovulating during Mr Hooper's 10-day stay and he hopes to hold a seminar in Brisbane.
A would-be mother hoped it would lead to more conversations about private donation in Queensland.
Another prospective parent said it would be a "dream come true" if she conceived with Mr Hooper's child.
She told the Courier Mail: "Imagine being in a mothers’ group with the kids all related, what a beautiful concept."
Experts warned unregulated donations would result in more women going "underground" to receive donations.
IVF Australia, in NSW, said healthy men between 21 and 45 were encouraged to give a sample to help others.
Sperm Donors Australia said donor were rare because of numbers donated during the coronavirus pandemic.
