Now, drivers are being urged to ignore some common speed camera myths which claim to cheat the system. This comes as experts warn these claims could have dangerous consequences.
The first speed camera was installed in the UK in 1991, to ensure motorists stayed within the legal driving limits to keep drivers safe. A study from London School of Economics conducted between 1992 - 2016 estimated that speed cameras reduced deaths from road accidents by between 58% - 68%.
