Special Valentines Market to be held in Lisburn next week

A special Valentines Market will be taking place in Lisburn next weekend featuring a host of local independent traders.

Lisburn and Castlereagh Council have announced the market which will take place on Saturday, February 12 at the Castle Gardens and will feature live music and craft workshops where children will have the opportunity to make their own gift.

The market will feature a wide array of different artisans and traders, with everything from award winning bakers to teenage farmers and jewellry makers.

Alderman Amanda Grehan, Development Committee Chair said, “We are really looking forward to offering a new take on our popular food and drink events this month by hosting February’s Valentine’s Day themed market in Castle Gardens, Lisburn.

"Whether you’ve been struck by Cupids’ arrow and are looking for the perfect gifts for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day or you’re keen to support local traders as part of your Saturday shopping, we expect a broad range of visitors to explore the variety of special treats, handmade crafts and delicious foods on display."

The Lisburn Valentines Market hopes to promote the talented and thriving community on independent traders in the local area such as Blixt Bakery, Rosie McNeill Cakes, The Daily Apron, Ellie Mac Candles, Lisa’s Buttons & Bows and Pink Pepper Design.

Local teenage farmer Nicholas Dennison from Rock Road Farm will also be showcasing his rare-breed pork including bacon, pork shoulder and chops.

Urban Street Grub, The Rovin Stove, Ret Ro’s Grilled Cheese and The Curious Farmer will be providing hot food on the day with their popular menus and performing throughout the day will be musical groups Harmony Ladies Choir and Lisburn Uke’s joined by singer songwriter Kyle J. Suckling.

Lisburn Valentine’s Market will trade from 10.00am – 2.00pm on Saturday 12th February 2022 in Castle Gardens, Lisburn.
