MUMBAI: Questioning the logic of his decision, the Bombay HC stayed an order of the state’s social justice and special assistance minister Dhananjay Munde shutting down a Solapur school for students with hearing and speech impairments. “He is the social justice minister. What kind of social justice is this?” asked vacation judge Justice Milind Jadhav on Monday.
The judge sought an “appropriate reply” from the government on a petition by Shri Gurudev School for Deaf and Mute Children at Majrewadi. It had challenged a June 10, 2020 order of the Commissioner of Disabilities, Pune, cancelling its registration as well as Munde’s decision pronounced “10 months later” on April 27, 2022.
