Spartak Moscow have made a bizarre dig at Manchester United as the Russian club poked fun at Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Sadio Mane.
The Liverpool star looks likely to be on the move this summer, with the German champions the clear favourites to land him. Bayern’s early attempts to bring Mane to the Allianz Arena, though, have not been met too kindly by the Anfield club.
Reports have suggested the Bundesliga giants have had offers of £21million and £30million rejected by Liverpool, with their latest offer said to have been described as ‘laughable’ by Liverpool. It was said £6.5m of that offer depended on Mane winning the Ballon d’Or and the Champions League in the next three seasons.

Liverpool have reportedly valued Mane at £42.5m, with Bayern’s early attempts at landing the Senegal international leading to them being trolled by supporters. They wouldn’t have expected the dig that came from Spartak though, with United also finding themselves in the firing line.
The Russian club’s English language account on Twitter posted an image of a spoof offer from Bayern for their striker Aleksandr Sobolev. The German club were portrayed as offering just €1,000 for the player, alongside three add-ons.
Among the added incentives was €15m if United were to win a trophy, with the Russian club joking that the idea is impossible. The other add-ons were €10m if Bayern were to win the Eurovision Song Contest, and €20m if Lionel Messi joined Real Madrid.
The image was complete with a scrawled signature from “Bayern”. While clearly made as a joke, the source will no doubt confuse United fans, who will be hoping Erik ten Hag can save them from similar digs in the coming years.
