En español

Spanish actor José de la Torre, known for his roles in hit series such as 'Toy Boy' and 'Vis a vis: El Oasis,' passed away last Friday after succumbing to a serious illness.

At just 37 years old, his life was cut short following a diagnosis received only a few months ago. The news was confirmed by Montilla Digital and quickly spread across social media, where friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry expressed their shock and sorrow.

Who was José de la Torre?

Originally from Córdoba, Spain, José de la Torre began his artistic career in music videos, notably appearing in one for the band 'Nena Daconte.' His talent soon propelled him to television, where he starred in popular series such as 'Amar es para Siempre,' 'Vis a Vis,' and Netflix's 'Toy Boy,' in which his portrayal of Iván earned him international fame.

Beyond acting, José was also a successful model, representing major fashion, jewelry, and accessory brands.

His Instagram account, boasting nearly 500,000 followers, showcased his work off-screen, establishing him as a prestigious model not only in Spain but internationally.

What was the cause of his death?

José kept his health struggles private. According to the outlet that broke the news, the actor chose to share his diagnosis only with his closest circle of family and friends. His last social media post, shared in June, depicted him happily enjoying time with friends in the Canary Islands, without a hint of his condition.

The world mourns his passing

The news of José's death has elicited an outpouring of grief. Fans, colleagues, and followers have flooded social media with tributes, remembering his vibrant energy and passion for life.

Renowned Spanish singer Pablo Alborán also expressed his heartbreak, mourning the loss of a dear friend. "I can't believe you're gone so soon. I'm devastated by your departure. I'm sending kisses to all of your family and friends. We'll never forget you Jose. Wherever you are, I'm sure you're wearing a Hawaiian shirt, a killer mustache, and those sunglasses like the ones we wore that day." Alborán shared in an Instagram story.
