Spanish film 'Close Your Eyes' wins multiple top honors at ICS Awards

The 21st ICS Awards recently took place, honoring the best in cinema from around the world. This year, Víctor Erice's 'Close Your Eyes,' Andrew Haigh's 'All of Us Strangers,' and Justine Triet's 'Anatomy of a Fall' emerged as the dominant films, winning top prizes in multiple categories.

'Close Your Eyes' is a captivating mystery that revolves around the disappearance of a Spanish actor during the filming of a movie. Although his body is never found, the police determine that he suffered an accident on the edge of a cliff. Many years later, the cold case resurfaces, enthralling audiences with its intriguing narrative. It's no wonder that 'Close Your Eyes' received accolades for Best Picture and Best Director.

Justine Triet's 'Anatomy of a Fall' was another standout film, scooping up three awards. Sandra Hüller's powerful performance earned her the Best Actress award, while Triet and Arthur Harari were recognized for their original screenplay. Laurent Sénéchal's skillful editing also contributed to the film's success. Garnering nominations from renowned award shows like the Oscars, BAFTA's, and Cesar Awards, 'Anatomy of a Fall' has undoubtedly made its mark on the industry.

The romantic fantasy 'All of Us Strangers' triumphed in four categories at the ICS Awards. Asmae El Moudir's documentary 'The Mother of All Lies' took home the Best Documentary award, chronicling her own childhood experiences in Casablanca.
