Spanish club planning to 'steal' Morelos in post-Rangers transfer battle

Alfredo Morelos is reportedly close to finalising a move to Spanish club Granada.

Reports claim the former Rangers striker is nearing a switch to Spain's top-flight after his Ibrox exit last season.

Balon Latino claims Morelos has attracted offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia but knocked approaches back.

Instead, it's thought Morelos would prefer to remain in Europe in one of the top leagues.

And according to Balon Latino, Morelos is headed for La Liga this summer.

It's reported Granada are closing in on agreeing a three-year deal with Morelos. It is set to feature a termination clause of around £5million to £7m with Morelos regarded as a top player at the club.

However, there is rival interest in Spain with Celta Vigo keen to gazump Granada and "steal" the signing of Morelos at the eleventh hour.

Despite the Celta Vigo interest, Granada are reportedly in pole position to land Morelos who has been a free agent since his departure from Ibrox at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, new Rangers striker Danilo has admitted he is already "in love" with his new club.

After signing a five-year deal, he said: “I’m super happy. I can’t wait to start playing at Ibrox in front of the supporters.

"I am so in love already with the club and I’m excited to be part of the Rangers team. It’s time to get to work and I hope that I can repay the love that they have shown to me."

Michael Beale added: “The discussions were ongoing for some time, so I am delighted that we finally have him at our club.

"Danilo really wanted this move and has a strong belief in the plan that we have for him and for the team moving forward - this was key in the negotiations as he really pushed to join Rangers. We wish him every success here at Rangers.”

Danilo will travel to Germany with the Rangers squad ahead of the friendly with Hoffenheim and he could feature for the first time with his new club.
