In a statement made on X, Sanchez emphasized the importance of avoiding a regional escalation at all costs. He also mentioned that Spain is in contact with its embassies in the region to assist Spaniards in the area.
Joining Sanchez in condemning the attack, Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro also spoke out on X. Montenegro stated that his government vehemently condemns the violence and called for restraint to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
