UK holidaymakers who have not been fully-vaccinated should find it easier to enter Spain and its islands from next week with the country's government expected to ease remaining Covid restrictions. Currently, travellers arriving from the UK must have proof of vaccination or a recovery certificate.
However these rules are likely to change from May 15, although the move has yet to be confirmed. Hopes of changes have been dashed several times before but Spanish health officials are expected to follow other EU nations and lift its strict rules in place until midnight on Sunday.
A statement from the Ministry of the Interior said: “This order will take effect from 12:00 pm on July 22, 2020, until 12:00 pm on May 15, 2022, without prejudice to its eventual modification to respond to a change in circumstances or new recommendations in the European Union.”
