Elon Musk-led SpaceX IPO has drawn attention to mutual funds tracking the technology-heavy benchmark. SpaceX is seeking to raise about $75 billion at a valuation of roughly $1.75 trillion, making it one of the largest public offerings ever and placing the company among the most valuable listed firms in the world. The stock is expected to debut on June 12 under the ticker symbol SPCX.
The Nasdaq-100 comprises some of the world's largest technology and growth-oriented companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Alphabet and Meta. If SpaceX is added to the index, funds replicating the benchmark will be required to purchase the company's shares, giving investors indirect exposure to the aerospace and satellite communications giant.
