Aneesh, 38, accused in the murder case of his parents at Injakundu, surrendered before the police on Monday. The police recorded his arrest.
Subran, 68, and Chandrika, 62, of Injakundu, Mattathur, were hacked to death by Aneesh on Sunday morning, following an altercation in the family, the police said.
After the murder, Aneesh escaped on his motorbike to Kodungallur and from there to Thiruvananthapuram on a KSRTC bus, according to the police. He returned to Thrissur by train and surrendered at the commissioner’s office. The police took him to Injakundu to collect evidence.
Altercations over property were frequent in the family of Subran, a rubber-tapping worker. He was staying with his wife Chandrika, a daughter, and son Aneesh, who is unmarried.
On Sunday, Aneesh quarrelled with Chandrika, over the planting of a mango tree in front of their house. In a rage, he attacked Chandrika with a spade. When Kuttan came to help her, Aneesh hacked both with a knife. When they ran out, Aneesh followed and attacked them on the road. Both died there itself, according to the police.
