Cody Walker has declared he wants to play on next year, with the veteran South Sydney five-eighth believing his body is ready for the rigours of another season.

Walker will officially take over the mantle of the NRL's oldest player from the departing Daly Cherry-Evans if he plays on next year, with the No.6 to turn 37 in January.
