A fast-moving wildfire destroyed multiple homes in Southern California as hot, gusty weather swept the region on Friday, prompting mandatory evacuations and widespread power outages.

Television footage from KTLA showed several residences engulfed in flames in the Orange County community of San Juan Capistrano.
