South Wales Police thankful they stopped suspected drink driver 'before she hurt someone'

South Wales Police say they are "thankful" they spotted a suspected drink-driver on her way home. The motorist was stopped in an undisclosed location within the force's area overnight after officers became concerned at the way she was driving.

She was made to take a roadside breath test where she gave a reading of 86 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal driving limit in Wales is 35 Mgs.

The force said it was fortunate that the driver was stopped before "she injured anyone". In a statement issued online during the early hours of the morning, the South Wales Police's Road Policing Unit said: "This female stopped on her way home due to her manner of driving. Thankfully we spotted her before she injured anyone or damaged anything.

"Arrested. A night in the cell with a court date and disqualification to look forward to for her.
