A South Florida bartender has gained attention for her unique Spring Break offering at Backyard Fort Lauderdale. Aiyana Callas, known as 'Hurricane Aiyana,' has been selling her Hurricane Shot routine, which includes a shot, a bucket of water poured over the customer's head, and a slap to the face. Prices range from $20 to $60 depending on the chosen routine, with the Hurricane Shot priced at $30.
Callas, a performer by nature, has emphasized that the slaps are not delivered with full force and are always done with consent and safety in mind. Despite the unconventional nature of her service, Callas has been selling an average of 150 to 200 shots per night during Spring Break, with one particularly successful night bringing in $6,000 in sales.
Her popularity has led her to establish her own entertainment company, where she now accepts bookings for private parties. Spring Break itself has a long history, dating back to 1934 when it began as a swim training trip to South Florida. Over the years, it evolved into a popular annual event, with the novel 'Unholy Spring (Where the Boys Are)' in 1958 and its subsequent film adaptation playing a significant role in shaping the modern concept of Spring Break.
Spring Break continues to be a widely celebrated tradition, drawing crowds to destinations like Fort Lauderdale for a mix of relaxation and revelry. Callas' innovative approach to bartending has certainly added a unique twist to the Spring Break experience, attracting attention both locally and online.
