LAFC have handed a lucky Welsh family the chance to meet Gareth Bale, after they initially missed out on the chance to see him in action.
The Timms family from Porthcawl were on holiday across the pond and had hoped to catch the Wales skipper in action for his new club against DC United as part of their trip. The family of four hedged their bets and bought tickets for the game, even draping a Welsh flag near the players' tunnel in a bid to catch Bale's attention, only for the Welshman to be omitted from the squad.
However, they were finally granted the chance to catch a glimpse of their idol this week after being invited to the club's training ground, where the Cardiff City fans were even afforded the opportunity to meet the man himself.

Mother-of-two Rebecca explained: "We planned our holiday and we always try to get an MLS match in and obviously once Gareth Bale was coming, we knew that this had to be the match for us. We were hoping and praying Bale would play.
"Unfortunately he didn't. But we've been so fortunate to be invited here to the LAFC training ground to come and see training and see Bale."
Rebecca's two boys were left visibly delighted at the opportunity to meet Bale, who has since settled in nicely to life in California, having netted twice in his opening five games.
But the winger was still apologetic for not running out in front of the Timms family earlier in the season.
"Sorry I wasn't playing the other day," he said, before going on to have his photo taken with the family and signing their Wales bucket hats. "I hope you all enjoy your holiday, and nice to meet you," he added.
