Authorities have arrested the son of the man suspected in the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Florida. Oran Routh, residing in Greensboro, North Carolina, was taken into custody on federal charges related to possessing child sexual abuse images.
The arrest of Oran Routh followed a search of his residence by law enforcement officials, which was initially part of an investigation unrelated to child exploitation. During the search, authorities discovered numerous electronic devices containing hundreds of files depicting child sexual abuse.
Oran Routh now faces two charges - one for possessing and another for receiving child sexual abuse material. Notably, his father, Ryan Routh, is the prime suspect in the attempted assassination of Trump at a Florida golf course. Ryan Routh has already been charged with federal gun offenses, with prosecutors hinting at more severe charges related to the assassination attempt.
As of now, there is no attorney listed for Oran Routh in the court documents. Attempts to reach Oran Routh or his family members for comment have been unsuccessful.
