Son Of Creedence Clearwater Revival Drummer Accused Of Girlfriend's Murder

Authorities have charged Brent Clifford, the son of Creedence Clearwater Revival drummer Doug Clifford, with murder after the body of his girlfriend, Patricia Portella-Wright, was discovered off Mt. Rose Highway in Washoe County, Nevada. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office has identified Clifford as a person of interest in a separate homicide case in Reno.

Placer County Sgt. David Smith confirmed the presence of foul play in Portella-Wright's case and mentioned the relentless efforts of investigators to locate her remains. Portella-Wright, a resident of Kings Beach, California, was reported missing after being last seen on August 4.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities used a drone to locate Portella-Wright's body down a steep embankment. Brent Clifford was subsequently arrested in Portola, California, and is currently held without bail on a murder charge.

The motive behind the alleged killing remains unknown, and Clifford, aged 55, is also linked to a homicide in Reno. The victim of the Reno homicide was found on August 11, and Clifford was arrested in possession of the victim's vehicle in Portola.

Law enforcement is awaiting confirmation of the remains' identity from the Washoe County Coroner’s Office. The case continues to unfold as authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding these tragic events.
