Son Heung-min is "massive" Wrexham fan and could now face them in FA Cup

"Massive" Wrexham fan Son Heung-min will get the chance to face his beloved club in the FA Cup... but only if the Welsh side can beat high-flying Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup was conducted on Monday, with the winner of Wrexham's fourth-round replay against the Blades hosting Son's Tottenham in the next stage. All 16 ties will take place between Tuesday, February 28 and Thursday, March 2.

Son's love for Wrexham, who are owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has been revealed by Elliott Lee. The Wrexham midfielder and his team-mates copied Son's 'camera' celebration during their 2-0 win against Aldershot last November.

Lee was asked about the celebration during a press conference. "My friend Tom Lockyer plays for Wales and he was with Ben Davies the other day and Ben Davies said that Sonny for Tottenham is a massive Wrexham fan now," said Lee, as quoted by The Leader.

"So he asked if we could send him a message in the week, so we sent him a message during the week and did his celebration after we scored."

Wrexham put their name in the hat for the fifth round following an outstanding performance against Sheffield Utd on Sunday. The non-league club were expected to lose to the Blades, who are on course to achieve promotion to the Premier League this season.

Paul Heckingbottom's side took the lead at the Racecourse through Oli McBurnie, but second-half goals from James Jones and Thomas O'Connor turned the cup tie on its head. Sheff Utd then equalised through Ollie Norwood before the game took another twist.

Daniel Jebbison's red card for the Blades gave Wrexham a man advantage and they made their guests pay through Paul Mullin's late goal. But, just as Wrexham were about to pull off a famous upset, John Egan scored a last-gasp equaliser to force a replay.

Although they were arguably the better team on Sunday, it will be a tall order for Wrexham to win at Bramall Lane. The Blades are second in the Championship - 12 points clear of Middlesbrough in third with a game in hand. They have not lost since November.

Having said that, Wrexham have not tasted defeat in the National League since October and will be full of confidence for the replay. That game is currently pencilled in for Tuesday, February 7 - although that date could change due to TV coverage.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson admitted his frustration at Egan's equaliser. He told the BBC: "Obviously it's a real blow that we haven't got over the line, so it's mixed emotions as you can imagine. But the way the lads performed on the big stage was outstanding."

Sheff Utd boss Heckingbottom added: "We all know why everyone turned up here today [to see an upset], I'm just glad we've not given everyone what they wanted. That was our motivation so we're pleased to be in the fifth-round draw."
