Newcastle United fans have every reason to be overjoyed after they witnessed Eddie Howe's men book their place in the Carabao Cup final with a 2-1 second leg victory over Southampton at St James' Park last night.
The Magpie's win means on February 26th they will be competing in their first Wembley cup final since 1999. It was a relatively comfortable night on the pitch, as a first half brace from Sean Longstaff allowed Newcastle to take complete control of the tie, as fans started planning their trips to London before the final whistle even went.
Newcastle United fans, as well as others who were at the game, have reflected on the historic night at St James' Park which will be one to remember for years to come.

Ethan Bassett, 21, a steward at St James' Park, said there was a great atmosphere in the stadium and told how he thought how it ranked amongst matches he's worked at.
"After the 90 minutes everyone stayed for a while longer, they were singing and dancing and jumping around, it was a well good atmosphere. I would say that's one of the best crowds I've ever worked at or seen full stop", he said.
Southampton fan Paul Hopper, who despite his disappointment with the result last night, spoke highly of the event as a whole.
"I've been to St James' Park quite a few times as an away fan, but this time it felt different. The city centre was electric and that was evident in the stadium as well. Full credit to Newcastle, and I wish them well for the final."
Newcastle fan Joe Douglas, 20, also said there was a great atmosphere and it ranked among some of the best high points for the Toon.
"I think the last time there was an atmosphere that good was the European quarter final against Benfica, it was incredible. I think this tops when we got promoted from the Championship as well. I can't wait for the final", he said.
NUFC fan Emma Leigh, 47, watched the match last night on TV, however she echoed previous sentiments about her joy at Newcastle making it to a long overdue cup final.
"It's great to see for the club and for the fans, especially as they played well enough to get there. It wasn't just a fluke, they deserve to be there and there's clearly been a lot of hard work that's gone into it", she said.
Finally, long-time Newcastle fan Dave Urwin, 70, gave his thoughts about the match and what it was like being right among the fans in the stadium.
"The atmosphere was the best I've seen for years, for the first 25 minutes especially it was incredible. The only downside for me is Bruno's red card, but he'll be back for the final. Somebody in Gateshead said they could hear us from across the river!"
