Customers at a number of JD Wetherspoon pubs will notice a big change to a number of meals on the menu.
Amid egg shortages, the chain has had to swap items on many dishes, as they usually contain egg in some shape or form. The move comes as a number of supermarkets have rationed their eggs, allowing shoppers to only buy a certain number of boxes each.
A customer notice in one Wetherspoon pub reads: "There is a short-term supply issue with the eggs used for fried eggs, affecting a small number of pubs".

Where pubs cannot use eggs, the following substitutions will be made:
- All relevant breakfasts will have an extra hash brown
- 5oz and 10oz gammon meals will have an extra tomato and mushroom
- The all-day brunch and vegetarian all-day brunch will have an extra sausage
- Larged mixed grills will include extra onion rings
A Wetherspoon spokesperson told the ECHO: "We can confirm that there are temporary issues with egg supplies at some Wetherspoon pubs, due to the current national shortage of eggs.
"We are experiencing issues in receiving all the supplies we require to satisfy demand in every pub. This is not specific to Wetherspoon and other hospitality operators and supermarkets are facing similar issues.
"At the pubs concerned, customers are being offered alternative items, for example, hash brown, sausage or onion rings where eggs are unavailable. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience."
