If you love catching up on ITV shows via your iPhone you might soon need to invest in something totally new.
The latest ITVX application - which offers access to exclusive shows and on-demand content - is about to be blocked from a bunch of older Apple smartphones (running iOS 14) with the changes coming into force this August.
It will mean those with ageing iPhones in their pockets will instantly lose access to the streaming service.
Luckily, most iPhone users will be safe as the ITVX switch-off is only targeting devices made before 2015. So, if you have a modern call maker in your possession you won't be affected.
Here's the full list of iPhones facing the block.
iPhone 6 Plus • iPhone 6 • iPhone 5s • iPhone 5c • iPhone 5 • iPhone 4s • iPhone 4
Along with those smartphones, there are also some iPod and iPads that will also lose access including older iPad Minis and the iPad Air 1.
Here's the full list of other Apple devices facing the block.
iPad mini 3 • iPad mini 2 • iPad mini (1st generation) • iPad Air 1 • iPod touch 6th generation
It could be a big loss for those now enjoying this new app which replaced ITV Hub late last year.
ITVX now offers thousands of hours of content which include both new and original shows. Some programmes are even shown on this platform before they reach terrestrial TVs plus there's access to Hollywood blockbusters, dramas, and documentaries.
ITVX has both a free and premium version and is available across multiple devices, including iOS, Android, smart TVs and set-top-boxes.
Going free means you will have to watch adverts there are some shows that are also not available.
Opting for the £5.99 premium version unlocks a library of additional content from the popular Britbox platform along with an extra boost from STUDIOCANAL.
