Sofia Richie Grainge found an intelligent way to bring a sense of texture to her white bathroom – designers say her technique is serene and therapeutic

A white bathroom is the template for a sanctuary-esque space; its soothing properties and versatility make it a highly popular choice for those of us seeking calm in our homes.

Sofia Richie Grainge has us considering some white bathroom ideas and they involve a completely different color: pink.

The model shared a snap on her Instagram page of her all-white bathroom, which is made visually interesting thanks to a subtly showstopping pink vanity stool, along with marble floors and countertops, and a plush bathmat. The room is a masterclass in infusing a monochromatic space with a bit of color and plenty of texture to make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

According to design experts, decorating with pink is a fantastic color choice in the home, which, depending on the shade, can act as a second neutral in a room.

'Once reserved for nurseries or bold fashion statements, pink has emerged as a sophisticated color in interior design, offering versatility, warmth, and personality,' says the designer Nina Lichtenstein. 'Whether used as an accent or a bold statement, decorating with pink can transform a space with surprising depth and character. From the soft blush tones to vibrant fuchsia, here’s how you can confidently incorporate this lively color into your home.'

She continues, 'When working with pink, the shades you choose can make all the difference in how easy it is to style the rest of the room. Soft, muted tones like blush pink and dusty rose are among the easiest to style around. These colors serve as modern neutrals, blending effortlessly with various materials like wood, stone, and metal. They complement natural hues and add a hint of warmth without overpowering a space. Blush pink, in particular, pairs beautifully with whites, creams, grays, and even light blues, creating a serene, airy ambiance that feels both fresh and timeless.'

As far as room specifics go, Lichtenstein recommends dusty roses, like the color of Richie Grainge's stool, beyond the bathroom.

'Blush pinks and soft roses evoke a sense of calm, making them ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, or any space where you want to create a serene, relaxing atmosphere,' she says. 'These shades also have a romantic, almost ethereal quality that can make a room feel inviting and peaceful.'

Alternatively, there are particular hues she suggests for the bathroom.

'Coral or peachy pinks can add warmth and vibrancy without feeling overwhelming, creating an upbeat, happy vibe that works well in kitchens, bathrooms, or entryways,' she says. 'These shades are friendly and uplifting, bringing a welcoming tone to any space.'

In addition to the soft pink color infusion, try implementing textural elements, such as a boucle stool or fuzzy bath mat to enhance the intrigue of a white bathroom.
