Over 600,000 families across the country received a double Child Benefit payment worth €280 per child on Tuesday, Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys confirmed.
This measure means that instead of a payment of €140 for each of the 1.2 million children across the State today, parents received €280 per child under the age of 16.
The cost of living crisis has left many people trying to make their cash go further each month, so the government has a number of other cash boosts lined up for the rest of 2022.
