Social Security beneficiaries will get a 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) in 2027, the Social Security Administration announced Oct. 14. The raise adds about $75 a month to the average retirement benefit, but a projected Medicare Part B increase could take part of that back.
The 2027 Part B figures are still projections from the Medicare Trustees. Under those projections, the standard Part B premium would rise from $202.90 to $209.50 a month in 2027. For most retirees, that premium comes straight out of their Social Security check, so the real raise depends on both numbers.
