Millions of Americans relying on Social Security payments are set to receive their next checks on time, even after the Memorial Day holiday period. The Social Security Administration continues its regular monthly distribution schedule, sending benefits to nearly 75 million retirees, disabled workers, survivors, and Supplemental Security Income recipients across the country.
The final Social Security payment for May 2026 is scheduled to arrive on May 27 for beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month. That payment closes out the May distribution cycle and prepares beneficiaries for the June Social Security payment calendar, which follows the agency’s standard staggered schedule based on birth dates.
