The Boston Celtics are currently facing the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals, and that means one former Spartan, Xavier Tillman, is playing for an NBA championship.
In Game Three of the Finals, Celtics’ star center Kristaps Porzingis was out with an injury, which thrust Tillman into the rotation, and he answered the call, and then some.
Tillman’s performance in the third quarter, particularly on defense, got huge praise from the commentary team as he was able to hang with, and shut down, Mavericks star Luka Dončić. He also hit a huge three, and looked over at the Mavericks’ bench, which really got social media going.
