The Chargers fired Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco on Friday morning.
Here’s a sampling of the many responses to Staley and Telesco’s departure.
Gonna be an interesting job. Roster is overrated, overpaid and the cap situation is bad. Culture probably needs an overhaul. But you have the QB, which is often the hardest part https://t.co/DDuXevzawf

Tom, Brandon, thank you both for your efforts. Didn't work out but I know you both did your absolute best to make the Chargers better. Sucks it didn't happen, and no one was cheering for you both harder than me.
Best of luck on your next stops.#BoltUp https://t.co/PP5thVxfnz

Telesco: It's been time. The roster simply was not deep enough, burnt through money in FA, and didn't do well enough in the draft.
Staley: A coach who had good ideas, but was clearly far in over his head by the end of his second year. Not a good enough leader for "all in".

I’m not going to celebrate two people losing their jobs, even if it was the right thing to do. What I will do is celebrate Dean being decisive (for once) in cleaning house after last night. Now we just have to hope he hires a real head coach, not another Head Coach in Training.

Here we go fam…best wishes to TT and Staley…and let the rebuild begin. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ https://t.co/9X9Tz4TPoJ

I'm not even exaggerating — this is the happiest I have been all season.
What is ultimately best for the future was for Tom Telesco and Brandon Staley to both be fired.
Dean Spanos finally pulled the plug.

Justin Herbert with some viable weapons although in need of more speed, a high-end LT, young/starting talent at guard is a better starting point offensively than I think most if not all other openings will have this off-season.
A major key in this next phase to me is about… https://t.co/O5TavtMJfc

The search for a new a Chargers and GM officially begins.
Top priorities:
1) A Head Coach that can maximize Herbert
2) A GM that knows how to fill a roster with tier 2 and tier 3 valueFA pick ups, now that Herbert's second contract is about to hit. https://t.co/DDsRpITUcB

Never really happy about firings: it causes a ton of chaos on the human side of this business. Beyond that, this had to happen; if not now then in a few games. The Chargers were stuck and not making progress. Last night’s loss just signaled that the breakdown was complete. https://t.co/XGLt3RR8dJ

A lot of warranted heat on Staley. The firing of GM Tom Telesco is a big deal, too.
LA has handed out tons of extensions — Mike Williams, Michael Davis, JC Jackson, Derwin James, Joey Bosa, Corey Linsley, Sebastian Joseph-Day — and haven't gotten bang for their buck at all.

There was no way Telesco was gonna hire a 4th HC in his tenure. Staley’s job security ended by halftime last night. Hiring a new HC/GM does nothing unless the people above him let them do their job https://t.co/Ba8vCCZ1P1

Wow! They actually did it. It had to be done. Tom Telesco Authored no championship teams or division titles. Brandon Staley had a bottom 5 defense every year, got to the 1 playoffs once, and it was one of the most notorious Chargerings of all time. More changes need to be made,… https://t.co/Jh9UE51SbN

Good. As bad as Brandon Staley was, Telesco might be worse https://t.co/rTftiIS6bQ
