Neymar suffered a torn ACL while representing Brazil on Tuesday night in a World Cup qualification match against Uruguay.
The 31-year-old was in tears as he was stretchered off the field after sustaining the painful injury in the 45th minute.
With a long injury rehabilitation ahead, Neymar’s domestic club, Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal made a post on social media wishing him well in his recovery. The graphic they ran with on the social media post raised some eyebrows, however, as they opted to depict Neymar in his moment of pain.
The image shows Neymar clutching his leg while shouting, leaving fans questioning the decision not to run with a more stoic photo of the star winger.
Soccer fans had plenty to say about the graphic, trolling the club for its photo choice.
The medical tests “NEYMAR ” underwent, confirmed the Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Meniscus tear injury in his knee, he will be going through surgery and then a treatment program that will be determined later..
