The social media influencer known as Clavicular has been arrested in Florida on battery charges.

Braden Eric Peters, who maintains a controversial online presence among “manosphere” circles as a so-called “looksmaxxer”, was taken into custody on a warrant issued by the Osceola county sheriff’s office, according to local jail records and media reports.

The Osceola county sheriff’s office had asked Fort Lauderdale police for assistance in arresting Peters, who investigators accused of instigating a fight between his girlfriend and another 19-year-old woman in February at a Kissimmee short-term rental.

According to the sheriff’s office, Peters and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Violet Marie Lentz, are suspected of involvement in an attack on the woman. Authorities alleged he later posted the violence on social media to exploit the two women, NBC Miami reports.

“Neither Peters nor Lentz came out of the residence to speak to deputies about the incident when they arrived at the house to investigate,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement, according to the outlet.

It added that “detectives from the Osceola sheriff’s office completed their investigation after reviewing videos and talking with witnesses” – and that Lentz had been arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge as well as booked into the Broward county jail alongside Peters.

Word of Peters’ arrest spread amid mounting online backlash against him over a video that recently surfaced and appeared to show him firing a gun at a dead alligator in Florida.

Despite not naming Peters explicitly, state wildlife officials acknowledged the clip in question, saying they were “aware of a video depicting individuals in the Everglades on an airboat who appear to be discharging firearms at an alligator”.

They added: “[Florida fish and wildlife conservation commission] officers are looking into the incident and will provide additional information when available.”

Highly popular on the livestreaming platform Kick, Peters has made a name for himself with provocative and often polarizing content. Such content includes allegedly running over a pedestrian with his Tesla Cybertruck, as well as being seen publicly with Andrew Tate – a self-proclaimed “misogynist influencer” – and Nick Fuentes, a white nationalist commentator.
