‘Social Media Doesn’t Concern Me,’ Yousra to Asharq Al-Awsat

Egyptian artist Yousra said the Gold Yusr Honorary Award she was honored with at the second edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival (Red Sea IFF) is one of the “most important” tributes she has had in her journey that spans over 40 years.

In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat on the sidelines of the festival in Jeddah, Yousra said her joy with the award in indescribable, and that she is “proud” of being honored among whom she described as “icons” like Indian star Shah Rukh Khan and British director Guy Ritchie, noting that this “award is a big achievement.”

During the interview, the Egyptian actress spoke about her connection with Saudi Arabia since the beginning of her journey, describing the kingdom as “the closest to her heart”, and noting that she made unforgettable memories in it.

She also said that her connection with Saudi Arabia and its beautiful cities started before she became a famous actress, as she used to visit it with her late mother for Hajj and Umrah, adding that the kingdom is her mental comfort place to which she comes to unwind and recover spiritually by visiting Kaaba, and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
