Socceroos to host FIFA pre-World Cup warm-up tournament

The Socceroos will get their home send-off before next year's World Cup final adventure in North America by hosting a special FIFA-backed tournament on Australian soil.

Australia has been chosen as one of the host countries for next March's '2026 FIFA Series', a group of biennial invitational tournaments staged around the world that will feature nations from different confederations, the world governing body announced on Friday.
